Security, Discipline, Good Governance my Top Priorities if elected President- Almustapha

BY ISA SA’AD, DUTSE.

The AA Presidential Candidate, Major Hamza Almustapha ( retd.) has vowed to accord priority attention to security, discipline, and good governance if given the mandate come 2023 Presidential elections.

He also gave assurance on willingness  to provide a stable security within his first six months in office.

In an exclusive interview with the Hausa service of the BBC shortly after declaring his Presidential campaign in Abuja, Almustapha attributed lack of fear of God, nepotism, greed, selfishness and corruption as contributing factors retarding our socio- political advancement, lamenting,” we are so blessed by Almighty God with everything be it human and vast natural resources but our basic problem in this country is lack of patriotic leaders, and good governance, due to greed, nepotism, and corruption.

” Our basic problems as a nation was nepotism, greed, selfishness, lack of fear of God, patriotism, and corruption in both our leaders and the followers, saying unless and until we strive hard in changing the narratives before things shall improve, pointing out that the shortest exit to such unwholesome trends was for us to strive hard to eliminate bad governance to replace with people of track records of patriotic zeal for us to forge ahead” .

Asked on how he could tackle the country’s lingering security challenges being an ex- military personnel said the answer to these challenging question is straight forward as it need total overhauling of the army in fishing out the rotten ones and replace with talented ones who has the zeal to deliver and not corrupt and lazy ones.

” We will carefully study the situation in itemising need of our soldiers  as a motivation, provision of their basic needs in terms of operational machinery among others as well monitor and evaluate their duties frequently in accessing their success and shortfalls for amendments where necessary, actions which the present administration is lacking because of certain monopoly of power for them to achieve their selfish interest”

The AA presidential candidate lamented how “lack of fear of God and sincerity of purpose due to lack of honesty, patriotism, and commitment under the pretext of corruption and disabuse of rule of law negates our progress and development as a nation, saying unless and until we collectively chart a new cause in eliminating these social vices holistically before things shall improve”

Similarly,he attributed the general woes of the country on fifty six number of unpatriotic Nigerians who claimed to be scapegoats and untouchable elements in the country saying this useless entity are the ones steering the leadership of this country.

They fear nobody, they’re merciless, they don’t regard anybody rather than themselves, they only listen to themselves and their cohorts, they’re above the law since they claim supreme of their enclave, arguing how can we forge ahead with these dubious tendencies, just for the simple fact we are corrupt, and agreed that corruption has been institutionalized ,no descipline, no adherence to rule of law, nor descipline and having tolerance to one another, arguing how can we prosper with these tendencies.
